Our Engineering Department provides in-house 3D modeling, aircraft scanning, and rapid prototyping using advanced software and 3D printing. We work directly with FAA DERs for stress analysis and approvals, ensuring every design meets strict airworthiness standards. Using SolidWorks, PDM, Scan-to-CAD inspection, and Scan-to-CAD pro, we produce accurate drawings for parts, tools, and custom components. Our department also supports our training in our PMA program, developing both critical and non-critical parts to OEM quality.

When a mission calls for something unique, our team builds it from the ground up. We take custom concepts and turn them into operational solutions. With aircraft scanning, 3D modeling and printing, we can visualize, prototype, and refine custom builds quickly. Every project is engineered with practicality and reliability in mind, delivering tailored upgrades that integrate cleanly and perform flawlessly in the field.

Repairs and Alterations

Our Engineering team supports a wide range of aircraft repairs and alterations, from structural components to detailed panel modifications. Using advanced 3D modeling, Scan-to-CAD tools, and our in-house 3D printing capabilities, we rapidly prototype and validate replacement parts with precision. We produce all required engineering data and work closely with DERs for FAA approval, ensuring every repair or alteration meets strict safety, performance and airworthiness standards.

In-House 3D Printing

Our in-house 3D printing capability allows us to turn digital designs into physical prototypes within hours. Engineers use it to validate fitment, test design concepts, and refine custom components before moving into full production. Whether it's mock-ups for instrument panels, tooling fixtures, or replacement part geometry, rapid prototyping lets us identify improvements early and streamline the entire engineering process.

PMA - Parts and Components

Apex is actively building our Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) program, laying the foundation to produce high quality, FAA approved replacement parts in-house. Our engineering team is undergoing specialized PMA training, focusing on documentation, quality assurance, and manufacturing standards for both critical and non-critical components.
